By Matthew Charchenko
The heat is on across the state this morning! Temperatures are already in the upper 60’s to low 70’s west of the cascades while temperatures on the east side of the crest are already in the upper 70’s to low 80’s. Scattered clouds will help limit some of our heating around Seattle, but high temperatures will still soar into the 80s. Today’s high temperatures will be about 10-15 degrees above average in Western Washington, but we’ll stay about 10 degrees below our record high of 92.
I have some good news and bad news if the 80s are too warm for you. Those clouds that are spreading across the state today are a sign of a weak frontal system that will start to push southward overnight tonight into the morning hours. So don’t worry, that natural air conditioning is on its way!
Wednesday wont be a washout by any means, and most of the rainfall will stay north of Seattle. However, be prepared to dodge a few light raindrops tomorrow with high temperatures making it into the mid 70’s.
Now for the bad news: After tomorrows weak disturbance, the ridge will start to build again, bringing with it more sun and temperatures in the 80’s.
Enjoy the sunshine Huskies!
