Forecast: June 30th, 2020
By Matthew Charchenko
The final day of June is starting off with similar weather to what we have seen for most of the month. We will pick up a bit more rain in Seattle today, but so far it looks like our monthly precipitation will end up about 40% above average. So it’s not just you! It has been a soggy month, especially compared to last June, where we only received 60% of our average rainfall.
Strong onshore flow this morning is responsible for the areas of drizzle we are currently seeing around the sound. Rainfall should begin to taper off into the afternoon, but a continued chance of showers will continue through the day. An upper level low currently in Canada will slide southward tonight, bringing a continued risk of showers in Seattle today into tomorrow.
Expect high temperatures today to remain below average, only making it up into the mid 60s across Western Washington.
Right now, it looks like the chance of rain will taper off towards the end of the week, and we will see a cycle of morning clouds and afternoon sunshine. By the 4th of July, we should see high temperatures make it up into the mid 70s to welcome us into the start of summer on July 5th.
