Forecast: August 4th, 2020

By Matthew Charchenko

Most of us are waking up to sunshine this morning, but if you live along the I-5 corridor from Seattle to Bellingham, you’re currently socked in under a thin sliver of marine clouds.

Those low clouds should burn off in the next couple hours, making way for a perfect summer afternoon around the sound. High’s today wont be nearly as warm as last week, but we will still make it into the lower 80s in Seattle, which is a few degrees above our average high of 77 for this time of year.

A few more clouds start to make their way into the picture on Wednesday, signalling a brief shift in our persistent summer weather pattern. An upper level trough makes its way into Western Washington Thursday morning, bringing with it some much needed rainfall. Expect to see a couple tenths of an inch of rain in Seattle, with higher totals the further north you go. This system will quickly make its way out of the region Thursday evening, making way for another beautiful summer weekend.
