Hey Huskies!

The weather got a little chilly this past weekend, though not quite as cold as was initially expected in Seattle. Weekend temperatures dropped into the upper 30s, but not all the way to the freezing level as was forecast. Olympia was the place to be for chilly weather in the Puget Sound last week. The warmest low temperature last week was 36 and in five of the last six days, overnight temperatures dipped below freezing. Brr! You might not need that extra blanket tonight as slightly warmer lows in the mid 40s are forecast for the Seattle region.

Ironically, the weather pattern bringing cold weather and clear skies to Seattle—a ridge of high pressure–is the same that caused temperatures to stretch into the 70s and cooked up thick foggy mornings earlier this month. Though skies are cloudier today, the ridge is expected to linger through Thursday. Overcast skies, calm winds, and highs in the upper 50s are likely over the next couple days.

On Thursday night a swift cold front will roll into western Washington and bring showers on Friday morning and afternoon. The showers should be the last precipitation of the month, as high pressure is set to return this weekend. Bring on the clear skies!

Clearer skies on the weekend is good news for photographers hoping to capture a rare Blue Moon (the second full moon of the month) on Halloween night. Speaking of October 31st, get ready to turn the clocks back on Saturday night.

Enjoy your week!
