Forecast: December 8th, 2020

By Calen Randall

Hey Huskies,

After a dry start to the month, our first significant precipitation in a few weeks is here. While it is no deluge, this December drizzle (and afternoon rain) should accumulate to between a quarter and a half inch today. The cloudy drizzle is definitely a shift from last week’s crisp clear weather!

Current temperatures are about normal for this time of year with highs in the low 50s and lows in the low 40s early tomorrow morning. As we head towards the weekend expect similar highs and cooler lows in the upper 30s.

With the warm overnight temperatures, snow elevation is high, and we are not likely to see much new snow tonight. Don’t fret, skiers and snowboarders. Additional snow is likely to arrive this weekend.

Drier weather will make a brief return tomorrow, but anticipate more fronts and rain, starting on Thursday. If you plan to put up some outdoor decorations or lights and want to stay dry, tomorrow night would be the best time for decorating.

As we enter the second week of December, finals are right around the quarter. Hopefully the drizzly weather makes it easier to focus on studying! If you need a break from studying tonight though, take a walk in the refreshing rain. If you prefer to stay dry, a Wednesday evening walk could be in order.

Good luck and enjoy your week!
