Hey Huskies!

Hopefully you all are enjoying the snowpocalypse thus far. Much of Seattle woke up to 8+ inches of snow this morning, and some areas in the South Sound received over a foot!

A Winter Storm Warning remains in place until 4:00pm this afternoon, as an additional 1-5” of snow is expected to fall by then throughout most of the region. The surface low bringing us this wonderful winter storm will weaken as it makes its way further inland, resulting in a gradual lessening of snowfall as we move into the evening. You can expect light flurries to continue through the night but with little accumulation.

If you’re planning on driving anywhere, drive slowly and use extreme caution! Highs will barely make it above freezing today, and temperatures will drop all the way into the 20s overnight, so roads will be especially slick tomorrow morning.

As for the remainder of the weekend, another system will move into the area tomorrow afternoon, potentially bringing even more snow! As we start to warm up on Monday morning, the snow will likely become heavier, wetter, and mixed with sleet.

Stay tuned for more updates and keep sending us your snow pictures on social media! We love to see them!

Have an amazing snow-filled Saturday!
