Hey Huskies,

If you have been hoping for dry weather in Seattle this Spring Break, you are in luck today! A ridge of high pressure has rolled into western Washington and we should remain rain-free for the first time in several days. If you want to get outside for a midweek walk, bike ride, or kayak paddle when things are not as busy, today is the day to get outdoors! Morning clouds will clear by the afternoon and sunbreaks should warm temperatures into the low-to-mid 50s this afternoon.

Unfortunately, our “synoptic umbrella”, the ridge of high pressure, will be short-lived. Another low pressure trough will enter the region tonight and bring rain to the lowlands and fresh snow in the mountains. The front will be preceded by windy weather with gusts in the 20 mph range expected early tomorrow morning.

Good news for fair-weather fans, after Wednesday’s rain, the weather will shift back to dry weather on Thursday. Temperatures will approach 60⁰ on Friday and Saturday. The weather will once again transition back to a rainier pattern on Sunday for the final day of Spring Break.

With partially clear skies over the Puget Sound tonight, we could be treated to a pretty sunset. Speaking of sunsets, we are a couple days away from a Seattle sunset after 7:30 P.M. and sunrises before 7:00 A.M.! Enjoy the increasing daylight!
