Forecast: April 26th, 2021

Happy Monday!

After a showery weekend, things are drying out a bit across the Seattle area.  Expect partly cloudy skies this afternoon and high temperatures around the 60 degree mark.

Our recent showery weather has been great for keeping the pollen down and watering our lawns and gardens.  (I just planted some new sod in my backyard and am very thankful for the cooler and showery weather!)  But, if you are already longing for some dry weather and sunshine, you are in luck: Tuesday, Wednesday, and most of Thursday look to be dry with a mix of clouds and sun.  If you want to spend some time outside this week or have any chores to do outside, these are the days to do them!

We’ll return to a wetter weather pattern as we approach the end of the week, with a chance of rain beginning Thursday night and a showery end to April.

What does the month of May hold in store for us?  It’s too early to say with any accuracy (forecast accuracy decreases the further out into the future you get).  However, the latest 6-10 and 8-14 day outlooks from the Climate Prediction Center give a higher probability of below normal temperatures and average precipitation through May 10th.

As someone who loves the cooler weather, I’m definitely hoping that this temperature outlook holds true!  Take these outlooks with a grain of salt though, and remember that they are more about the probability of overall conditions during the period than an actual forecast for any particular day.

Have a great week!
