Happy Saturday, Huskies!

I hope your week eight featured a bit more stability than the atmosphere, although I’ll admit that was pretty fun to watch from indoors! No storm cells really reached my hometown this week despite some ominous skies, so feel free to keep sharing your storm pictures with us on social media!

Our reward for a wild week comes in two parts, one much better than the other. That first part is a pretty nice Saturday, which at the moment remains hidden behind the marine layer that we have to burn through. We can expect highs right around 70° and mostly sunny skies as the day progresses, perfect for Husky softball and baseball who are both in action this afternoon.

Tomorrow begins phase two of our “reward”, with the return of the cool and the gray. It won’t be a total dud, and rain looks to hold off throughout the afternoon, so you don’t have to cram all of your outdoor activities into today!

The rest of the week ahead embraces the cold and damp theme, with several rounds of showers rolling in separated by a pleasant Wednesday (perhaps giving us a shot at seeing the lunar eclipse at 3 AM that day)! Temperatures remain roughly ten degrees below average on the rainy days, but it may be worth it in the long run, as Washington faces a significant drought problem heading into a summer that is forecast to be warmer and drier than average. If we can prevent wildfires with a little May rain, I’m all for it. Enjoy the dry weekend, and perhaps I can bring a more seasonable forecast next week!
