Good evening Huskies!

If you stepped foot outside sometime today, you probably felt unusually warm for this time of the year. Thanks to a deep center of low pressure off the coast – termed a “bomb cyclone” – resulting in downsloping winds coming off of the Cascades, our high temperature this afternoon climbed all the way to 69 degrees, tying the previous record!

Hopefully you made the most of the warmth and occasional glimpses of sunshine throughout the day, as things are about to get cool, wet, and windy. Widespread rain and gusty winds have already begun to infiltrate the region, and winds will continue to pick up overnight. You can expect showers for most of the day tomorrow with potential for isolated thunderstorms.

Heading into the weekend, a series of systems will bring more bouts of wind and rain, with the strongest system expected to make landfall on Sunday. While the track of the system is still uncertain, it does carry the possibility of a significant wind event, so stay tuned for more information on that!

Stay dry and have a wonderful night.
