Happy Friday, Huskies!

There is scattered light to moderate rain around the region this morning, but most of the rain fell overnight. Temperatures will reach the mid-50s today as rain tapers off throughout the day.

Another system will move through the region Saturday, bringing with it some precipitation and slightly cooler temperatures in the low-50s, but all eyes are on Sunday.

A strong low-pressure system will skirt by the Washington coast on Sunday, bringing with it heavy rounds of precipitation and gusty winds. If this storm were to move any further southeast than currently forecast, we’d be talking about a historic windstorm, but alas, the storm looks to stay closer to Vancouver Island and spare most of Washington of the worst impacts.

The day will still be windy and the foothills, coast, and Northwest Interior could feel gusts up to 50 mph. Winds in Seattle and the rest of the central Sound will be more routine for Autumn around 20-25 mph.

Thunderstorms will form later Sunday, especially along the coast, so it’ll be a good idea to keep an eye on the sky for heavy downpours, lightning, and gusty winds.

For the upcoming week, the active pattern will continue with rounds of rain and seasonable temperatures with highs in the 50s and lows in the 40s.
