Happy Thursday, Huskies!
Today’s forecast is looking wet indeed, as flood warnings have been issued for certain parts of north-western Washington; accumulation is expected to be high enough that certain river banks will overflow, causing flooding. Please take caution if you either live near or are planning to go near any rivers in the area, particularly around the Cascades. Highs will reach right around 60 degrees F, while lows will reach around the high 40s. Unfortunately this warm spell won’t last, as temperatures are once again predicted to fall slightly over the weekend, coinciding with the end of the rain, at least for a spell. Expect some chilly nights over the weekend, with dips into the 30s being possible.

Rain is expected to continue through Friday morning, finally letting up for the weekend as a small high-pressure ridge passes over us. Muggy and wet conditions will persist until then, but we can expect some dry, if not warm, weather over the weekend.
Forecast for Saturday evening, where a small ridge passes right over Seattle. Ridges tend to be associated with calmer weather, as upward convection is stifled.
While I’m sure all of you are quite diligently studying for midterms, anybody who happens to be out and about on Halloween night should have no problems, aside from being a little chilly; no need to worry about your costumes getting drenched in rain. Hold out just a little longer for some sun!
