Happy Saturday Huskies!

Weather conditions this afternoon are quite ugly as chilly temperatures around 40 degrees, and misty drizzle dominate the Puget Sound region.

Light rain and mist will slowly taper off this evening, and skies will clear a bit tonight, making for cold nighttime lows in the mid 30s for Seattle. Tomorrow should remain dry, with a mixture of sun and clouds and high temperatures in the low to mid 40s. Winds will be calm, making for a chilly but nice day to get outside.

Overnight Sunday precipitation will begin to creep into the area. In Seattle expect the precipitation to almost certainly start as rain, but as precipitation rates increase a bit, we may mix with some wet snow. In fact, its looking quite likely that some form of wintery precipitation will fall Monday morning, but temperatures will unfortunately be too borderline for any notable accumulation. If we’re lucky, a dusting or so is definitely possible, but as temperatures warm Monday it will almost certainly be immediately washed away by rain.

Looking beyond our little snow threat, it’s looking like the weather will be very seasonal. Drizzle and rain showers, seasonably chilly temperatures, and minimal sunlight is looking quite likely for the rest of the week.

As you may have already guessed, December is the least sunny month of the year in Seattle. If you’re missing long summer days, you may take solace in the fact that we are only 17 days away from the shortest day of the year, and only 13 days away from the earliest sunset of the year.
