Forecast: December 8th, 2021

Hey there, Huskies!

Hopefully dead week hasn’t been too much for you this week, but good news is it’s halfway over! This Wednesday has brought some chaos to the U-District coming off of a coastal flood warning here in Seattle and surrounding areas, due to some strong winds and tidal overflow. In addition to the mysterious power outages last night, tied in with the orange skies and hail this evening! As this day comes to an end, expect some cold temperatures tonight ranging from the high 30s to low 40s.

Heading into Thursday, be prepared for some minimal rain, but look forward to no downpours. Tomorrow should be a generally normal day with temperatures around mid 40s with some southerly winds. Friday, along with the rest of the weekend, seem pretty tame as well with temperatures staying in the mid 40s, brisk winds, and scattered showers. You might see particularly heavier showers on Saturday.

If you’ve been too distracted by finals week, you might have forgotten that this upcoming week is already the halfway mark into December! Being in the middle of the month means we’re heading into the thick of wintery weather. This next week will be colder than what we’re used to in Seattle, with temperatures in the low 40s and the lows near freezing.

We inch our way closer to winter break, which is so exciting! But, if you’re like me and have to travel across Snoqualmie Pass soon to get back to Eastern Washington, this time can be a little stressful. Unfortunately, it will be snowing all weekend into early next week. This Saturday, the snowfall is looking to reach up to 10 inches! Throughout all the studying, snowfall and many tests headed our way, all that can be said is good luck, Huskies!
