Happy last-day-of-January Huskies!

Today marks the end of an unconventional start to winter quarter and the new year. As we transition into February and in-person classes, you can be sure to expect a little rain to keep us company on those chilly walks to campus.

A brisk version of typical Seattle weather continues its return today, with a high around 45 and some rain, but clearing up later this afternoon for a possible glimpse of sun.

Snow levels are continuing to fall this week, so you can look forward to sufficient accumulation out in the cascades. While the fresh snow will be great for an afternoon ski trip, keep an eye out if you plan on commuting through the passes.

For those of us who may be jealous of the East Coast’s recent snow, you should be glad to hear that, as snow levels stay low, we may see a few flakes mixed in with tomorrow’s rain. Groundhog day should follow suit with potential flurries earlier in the day, but mixing with rain by the evening. Be careful getting your hopes up though, as around no accumulation is expected.

Conditions may dry up this weekend, just as we transition into the second half of winter quarter. So don’t worry, there is still much to look forward to outside of another dreary midterm week.

Stay strong, Huskies!
