Happy Thursday, Huskies!
We’re nearing the end of the quarter and you might’ve noticed something special about this month: we haven’t needed rain jackets for class! We are currently in the third driest February ever in Seattle, and while it might seem really nice to feel some springlike weather recently, we’re experiencing the calm before the storm, as drizzles come back for this weekend.
Today, we experienced some cloudy weather with light wind speeds and that pattern should be similar for Friday with breezy wind and some scattered showers after midnight moving into Saturday, as a storm comes through the U-District, ending our dry streak and giving us some typical winter weather. Showers trickle into Sunday, but they should clear out by mid-afternoon, only to return in the night.
WEEKEND PLANNER
If you’re staying in Seattle for President’s Day, you might want to stay in and have a chill study night since it’s looking to be cloudy with some showers. However, as we get back into the groove of things on Tuesday, we should expect to see some sun and clear skies for our upcoming week 8!
Something unusual we should be seeing soon is temperatures dropping in the 20s! Cold air comes through next week, shaking up the calm weather we’re used to and making it feel a little more like winter quarter. If you plan on heading out anytime at night, remember to bring a coat, since it’ll definitely be chilly!
WEATHER HEADLINES
If you’re like me and are from Eastern Washington, you might want to look into alternate transportation this weekend if you planned on visiting home. The passes are looking to be very snowy Saturday and Sunday, leaving travel conditions unstable and something to definitely be weary of. As we’re nearing the end of the quarter, fingers crossed the wintery weather goes alongside with it! Enjoy your weekend, Huskies!
