Happy Wednesday Huskies!
It’s been looking a little gloomy outside today, with rain starting in the early PM. A well-matured occluded cyclonic system has passed over us, marking the beginning of a period of precipitation for the next few days.
Note the spiral-like structure and the nearly horizontal band of clouds; this indicates a very mature system
Expect some precipitation tonight, but no radical temperature change associated with a cold or warm front. Some instability associated with rising air means there’s a chance for thunderstorms tonight, so keep your eyes and ears peeled!
As for the rest of the week, we can expect a minor trough after this cyclonic system, bringing a light but extended wave of precipitation going into the weekend. A shortwave ridge of high pressure moves in around Saturday, hopefully keeping us dry and sunny!
At the start of next week, we can expect similar conditions, with scattered showers and overcast skies. Unfortunately not much of interest in the coming days meteorologically-wise, but we can keep our fingers crossed for some sun soon!
Enjoy the rainy evening in!
