Happy Sunday Huskies!
It’s looking like another clear fall day today. Clouds will continue to move in throughout the afternoon, with a high of about 48 degrees. There is a small chance for a drizzle tonight, with places south of Puget sound, in the mountains, and by the coast more likely to receive some sprinkles than here in Seattle.
As of today, we haven’t seen any rain in 13 days, and we are tied for the longest dry stretch in November. If we don’t get any rain tonight, there is a strong chance we will break this record, adding yet another statistic to what has already been a record-breaking fall for Seattle weather. However, there is a more definite end in sight. A cold front bringing wind and rain set to arrive sometime late Tuesday morning or early Tuesday afternoon.
Even with Tuesday’s rain, travel weather conditions continue to look good! Wind speeds should remain low enough to keep air travel running smoothly, and the snow level in the cascades will be about 5000 ft. There is a chance of light snow predicted for Steven’s Pass and a wintry mix predicted for White Pass on Tuesday, but there will be very little accumulation, so passes will most likely stay open. This front will leave the area into Wednesday, leaving Seattle with sunny skies, making for even better travel conditions. The sun will stay for Thanksgiving day. But, another rainy and windy system is coming Friday and Saturday, so those doing Black Friday shopping, be prepared to brave both the crowds and the elements!
