Happy Sunday Huskies! Hope everyone had a good weekend and enjoyed the sun on Saturday! This week is the last week of autumn quarter before exams! Here is what to expect with the weather this week when planning study sessions!

This past week was an interesting one regarding winter weather, as we spent a good chunk of last week in a winter weather advisory. On that note, yesterday at Sea-Tac Airport we saw a reported 2.6 inches of snow! This is a record amount of snowfall in Seattle for this day of the year! Along with this, today and the past 5 days at Sea-Tac Airport have all had measurable snowfall (at least .1 inches), this is climatically early in the year for this kind of trend. It is interesting how we went from breaking record highs in mid-October to reaching snowfall records in late November and early December! Overall, some very notable weather events are taking place this year!

Looking at today we are seeing temperatures in the mid-to-high 30’s, and a projected high of around 38F to reach this afternoon. Though temperatures are cooler today, there is a low chance we will see any snow on campus today, but we will see some light rain throughout the afternoon!

Looking forward to the beginning of next week we are expecting temperatures in the high 30s to low 40s, with a chance of mixed showers on Tuesday, but mostly just cloudy skies, as an upper-level high brings sinking air and dry conditions. Later this week we are seeing a stronger frontal system move into Puget Sound, giving us high temperatures in the low 40s as well as some lowland rain and snow in the mountains Wednesday nights, with breezy winds and even stronger gusts following the front as well.

Overall huskies were going into a cloudy and wet last week of autumn quarter! Keep up the hard work with dead week upon us!
