Welcome back to the last week of Fall quarter, Huskies!
Seattle saw some unusual weather last week, including six days straight of accumulated snow at SeaTac. UW even managed to see some snow sticking!
Seattle normally gets its snow during February, if at all, making the current snowfall amounts way above average for being five days into December! In fact, SeaTac beat its previous month-to-date snowfall record with a grand total of 3.3 inches. However, no more snow is expected this week. Instead, rain is on the way.
Temperatures are already cooling off from the high of 39 F today. It will remain cloudy overnight, keeping the low right around 36 F, but no rain is expected until tomorrow, when showers will develop across the region.
Tomorrow itself should be mostly cloudy with a chance of showers. This light rain will stick around throughout the rest of the week, getting heavier beginning Thursday with an incoming front, and hanging around through next weekend. Overnight lows will be well above freezing, with daytime highs in the low 40s.
In good news for those who plan on blowing off some steam between dead week and finals with some winter sports activities, it looks as though snow levels will be low enough to produce some fresh powder at the Cascade ski resorts before this weekend.
Good luck on exams, Huskies, and make sure to take advantage of the perfect, cozy study weather we will be having this week!
