Happy Saturday, Huskies!

We’re off to a quiet start with temperatures in the low 40s with gray skies this morning.

If you’ve been missing the sun during this dreary week, the sky is turning blue from north to south this morning. Partial clearing this afternoon will be a nice change of scene, and by Sunday morning there will be abundant sunshine for all of Western Washington.

Temperatures will be much cooler 24 hours from now versus this morning, as a cold front will move through and drops temperatures until the 20s tonight. High temperatures Sunday will remain at or below 40 degrees for most of the state.

With this cold front, a snow flurry or two is possible into the evening, but we have very limited precipitation remaining as dry air moves in. Areas south of Olympia or toward the foothills have a better shot at possibly seeing a snow shower. The chances are low for most of Western Washington, but worth nothing.

Wind is the bigger story with the Fraser River Valley funneling cold, dry air into our region tonight from the northeast. A wind advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for Western Whatcom, Skagit, and much of Island County between 6 PM tonight and 6 AM Sunday. Gusts up to 50 miles per hour are expected.

These gusty winds will make the cold temperatures feel even COLDER tonight. Wind chills will be in the teens for these areas, and below 30 degrees for other parts of Puget Sound.

The winds ease Sunday, but Sunday night low temperatures will plummet into the 20s in the city and teens in outlying areas. Bundle up!

Monday will be another mainly clear day before we reintroduce clouds later Tuesday. Temperatures slowly moderate to the 40s by mid-week.

No major snow events are looking likely at this time.

Have a good weekend!
