Hey Huskies! Hope everyone had a good week 8! We are getting closer and closer to spring break and spring quarter, though it definitely does not feel like it outside. Apparently, the groundhog did not lie when warning us of a longer winter. 🌨️
I personally am a huge fan of the cold and the winter, so I am pretty happy with our current conditions. Let’s look closer at what we have seen this week. We have been below average temperatures all week, but Wednesday we saw that our regular low temperature for February was instead our high for the day! And yesterday we saw around the same, with highs hanging around subfreezing and lows well below freezing, and early this morning, we hit a record low of 21 degrees! Replacing the previous low of 24 degrees in 2011! Wind chill making it feel even colder.
We even saw some snow this week! .2 inches of snowfall was reported on Wednesday at SeaTac, I very much enjoyed waking up to some snow! 😄
Snow chances for this weekend are likely, as cold air persists and we get some moisture. It won’t be much but expect some snow throughout the weekend and early week, especially Saturday night into Sunday morning, as that will be the bulk of our precipitation for the weekend, along the best conditions for lowland snow. ❄️ Here are what the totals look like for Sunday night.
As I said, light snow chances stick around for the beginning of next week as well, as we stick to those cold temperatures and precipitation trends. Here’s what totals look like throughout Tuesday!
Here’s a closer view of what this weekend looks like!
For the rest of today, expect to see that sun sticking around today, with highs around the mid-to-high-30s and overnight lows digging into the high-20s.
Overall huskies, be prepared for wintery conditions to stick around just a bit longer and enjoy the sun while it’s out today! ☀️
