Fake Spring

Good afternoon Huskies!

Following in the footsteps of last summer, this winter seems to be trying to stick around as long as possible. The high today is 49 degrees which is only one off from being the coldest high for April 20th on record (the current record is 48 degrees in 2008).

Wet and windy conditions will continue into this evening as a front moves through the area. The next hour or two are expected to be the heaviest precipitation in the Central Puget Sound, and a convergence zone is possible. Rain will begin to taper off around sundown, ending fully by midnight. High winds will likely continue through the night so watch out near the water!

A weak ridge will build over the PNW Friday giving us a short break from the rain. Expect cloudy skies and slightly warmer temperatures with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s.

Looking towards the weekend, Saturday will see scattered showers and another front will move through the area Sunday morning bringing more rain with it. While it is still too far in the future to make a completely accurate prediction, models are still showing signs of a strong ridge building over the West Coast. If they hold true we could see a nice warmup late next week that might convince me that it is actually spring.
