Dry Break In November

Happy Tuesday Huskies!
It was a very chilly morning here on campus as low temperatures dipped down into the mid 30s overnight. Some areas outside of Seattle even dipped below freezing shortly before sunrise. With the sun up now and the fog cleared out, temperatures should get to around 50 degrees this afternoon.
There is not much weather excitement over the next few days. We could see a stray shower on Wednesday, but this is looking less and less likely with every model run. Highs look to be in the upper 40s to near 50. Lows could be a bit more variable with the amount of cloud cover impacting how much cooling we get overnight.
Looking toward the weekend, we will have another storm approaching the area. Winds could pick up ahead of the frontal arrival and rainfall could be substantial but confidence is low at the moment as there is disagreement on where the low will exactly set up. While we are only halfway through the month, SeaTac has recorded five inches of rain, just shy of their monthly average of six inches.
Along with more rainy days in November, we are also seeing our earliest sunset times of the year. The rate of daylight loss has slowed down since we were near the equinox but looking at the next few weeks you can see it dip very early as we approach the winter solstice.
Enjoy that sun today Huskies.
