A Rainy Break Between Sunny Skies

Happy Thursday Huskies! 💛💜

Hope you all have been enjoying these brisk sunny days we’ve had over this week! The high temperature today was 51 degrees, this is extremely close to the average high for today’s date in previous years being 52. Expect to see more beautiful sunny weather through the rest of today. Throughout tonight, temperatures will continue to drop, most likely around the mid 30s, below the average of 41. 🥶 This is thanks to those clear skies we have been having, bringing the warmth from the surface up to outer space, leaving the surface temperature lower, and us colder while we sleep. 🌙😴

There is an end in sight to our dry and clear weather, but not for a couple of days. Tomorrow’s weather will look quite similar to today’s, with partly sunny skies and high temperatures on either side of 50 degrees. Saturday will start off dry and partly sunny with an overnight low of about 40 degrees. Cloud cover will increase as the day goes on ahead of a frontal system arriving some time Saturday evening. ☁️ There is still a bit of uncertainty on the specifics, some models are predicting rain all day Sunday, while others are predicting sunbreaks in the afternoon. Either way, the rain will leave the area by Sunday night. After the system passes, we’re looking at more of what we saw this week, as an upper-level ridge returns to western Washington.

Although these next few days may be near average with rain in spots (Classic Seattle), there is much to look forward to in the coming weeks here, and across the nation. In the east we are expecting cold and wet conditions for our thanksgiving week and along the west coast there is a significant chance of above average temperatures in Seattle and a slight chance of above average temps for the next two weeks. We also have a good chance of seeing below average precipitation rates in the next two weeks contributing to a balmy and dry period in preparation for final’s week. ☀️

Regardless of what the next week will bring, we are one week from turkey day! So keep your eye out for any deviations in the forecast and stay safe if you’re traveling this weekend.  🦃🥧
