Dry Thanksgiving Ahead

Happy Wednesday, Huskies!

Now that last night’s rain has moved through, we’ve dried out with mostly cloudy conditions today. Through the rest of this week, you can expect impressively clear skies for mid-November. These clear conditions will allow low temperatures to reach freezing, with areas away from the water likely to dip into the 20s by late Thanksgiving evening.

We give our thanks for the break in the weather to an area of high pressure setting up across the eastern Pacific during the next few days. Today’s model guidance has been hinting at the ridge sticking around for longer into next week, with even Monday and Tuesday looking tentatively dry. Travel across the passes looks like a safe affair, with snow levels remaining above the passes into this weekend. Morning fog could reduce visibility for early bird drivers, but any fog will quickly burn off and give way to calm and pleasant days.

Before our Huskies take the field again this Saturday against WSU, the Seahawks will be hosting the San Francisco 49ers on Thanksgiving evening at Lumen Field. Before kickoff at 5:20PM, the skies should be clearing over Seattle, just in time for the sun to begin setting. During the game, it’ll be getting chilly quick, with temperatures perhaps dropping into the 30s by the ending. We hope to send the 49ers home with a loss, and the classic Seattle weather won’t be a problem this time around. Make sure to bring a jacket, and perhaps some ear protection if you’ll be there!

Go Hawks, go Huskies, and have a safe Thanksgiving!
