Fog, Sun, and Rain?

Welcome back from Thanksgiving break to week 10 of the quarter Huskies!
This morning’s fog has kept things cool–some of you may have noticed frozen areas around campus in the AM hours. For those of you who are travelling back from the east side of the state, the fog may be a familiar sight. There’s still patchy areas east of the Cascades as well as around the I-5 corridor, but it should burn off this afternoon.
Today is expected to be the warmest (and sunniest!) day this week, reaching a high temp in the mid-40s. This is a few degrees cooler than the average, which sits just below 50 degrees. Tonight we’ll drop into freezing temps in the low 30s, again below average, and see more fog roll in overnight to hang around into the morning hours on Tuesday and Wednesday. This fog is expected to give way to clouds and sun both days, with Wednesday being the more pleasant of the two.
Due to the forecasted morning fog and near-freezing lows for the next couple mornings, we should all watch for possible freezing fog and black ice, especially near waterways and on side streets. By Thursday, a slight chance for showers returns to the area. A better chance for rain will be in store as we enter the month of December late this week.
Stay safe and enjoy the sunshine today Huskies!
