The Last Cloudy Long Weekend of Winter Quarter

Hey Huskies, and happy Friday! Congrats on making it the end of week 7, hopefully you get to enjoy a restful long weekend before the third stretch of the quarter starts next week.

After the pleasant and sunny afternoon we had today, temperatures will drop tonight into the upper-30s with a low of around 38 degrees.

The National Weather Service has also issued a high wind warning for the foothills where gusty winds upwards of 30-40 mph might be expected tonight into tomorrow morning.Unfortunately, or fortunately for those of you who prefer the rain, tomorrow we will kick off a dreary weekend with mostly cloudy skies and some scattered showers. The winds will die down, though, and temperatures tomorrow won’t be too chilly, as a high of around 50 degrees is expected.

Most of the precipitation expected this weekend will fall Saturday night and Sunday morning, but precipitation totals for the entire long-weekend won’t be too significant as they are unlikely to reach above a fourth of an inch here in Seattle.

Sunday itself looks as though it will be slightly cooler than the previous day, and will also be cloudy with scattered showers and a slight chance of sunbreaks in the afternoon. Monday will similar, again, with cloudy skies, a chance of rain, and a high in the low-50s.

If you need something besides the long weekend to look forward too, most of next week (after Tuesday) should be pretty nice: with warmer temperatures reaching into the mid-50s and some sunshine.

Enjoy your weekend, Huskies, and make sure to catch up on those late assignments if you get the chance.
