What’s up, Dawgs?

Above is a view of Seattle from the Space Needle Panocam during our 6:40 AM sunrise this morning. Both the skies and Mt. Rainier were glowing thanks to the clear conditions, save for a patch of fog creeping over Bellevue.

This sunny weather has lifted our spirits through the perils of dead week. The UW Horticulture building’s rooftop sensor has been showing a promising burst in solar radiation (AKA, sunshine!), thanks to the clearing of these dreary clouds from the past few days.

Taking a look at what those dreary clouds have brought us so far, we’re above average for our water year rain totals! This is exciting news for our mountains and the lowlands. While our snowpack is still below normal, the past few days have brought plentiful snowpack to the region. With any luck, we’ll be able to avoid a nasty drought this summer.

Here’s a a quick forecast for the rest of the week through the weekend. Heading in to finals, you can expect the sun to vanish once more, but perhaps that’s a good thing for those of us who are stuck inside studying and taking exams. Enjoy the pleasant weather while you can, and good luck preparing for finals, Huskies!
