Hey Huskies! We hope you’re enjoying the start of spring quarter and are ready to take on another ten weeks of fun. Hopefully you have gotten a chance to see the cherry blossoms in full bloom before the quad was inundated by masses of tourists. This week will start out with patchy wet weather followed by warmer temperatures and sunshine to wrap up March.

To start off our Wednesday, we’ll be seeing a wet commute as potentially heavy showers pass through our area. We could pick up over a quarter of inch throughout the day with locally heavier rain totals possible. By the afternoon though, we will see the showers ease and the potential for sunbreaks to increase. Alongside the lowland rain, we will be seeing another round of mountain snow, once again elongating the ski season for the cascade region. So make sure you wax your skis in between your cherry blossom photoshoots.

Thursday will be a slightly tamer version of Wednesday with high temperatures in the low 50s, spottier showers throughout the day, and weaker downpours if any. High temperatures will climb to the upper 50s to close out the week with our warmest temperatures occurring over Easter weekend. If we’re lucky, the Easter bunny will bring highs in the low 60s. We will see an increase in the diurnal temperature range throughout the week due to steady nighttime lows.

As we emerge from the big dark and sprout into our spring quarter, there is much to look forward to in the sunset timing department. This evening we will breach the 7:30pm sunset threshold and by the the middle of April, we will enter the eight o’clock sunset range. Good luck this quarter Huskies and make the most of the sunny days ahead!
