Happy midweek, Huskies!

We’ve been off to a cloudy and showery start to our April this year. While this may not be good for our spirits, it’s great for our water reserves. Here is a look at our rainfall totals from March (a bit below normal), and our rainfall totals since the beginning of the water year (above normal!), courtesy of NWS Seattle.

Overall, this rain accumulation will pay off come summertime this year.

A quick look at our 24 hour rainfall totals from a few different Western WA cities show some relatively pitiful showers from yesterday. The convergence zone that set up just north of Seattle was short lived, although it was a cause of those heavier morning showers.

Tonight should bring us a seasonably cool low temperature, with light winds and healthy cloud cover as Thursday’s clouds and sunbreaks roll in.

As for the rest of the week, Thursday evening and Friday morning have chances of rain, with highs in the mid-50s. Saturday is looking to be the nicer day of the weekend, and should definitely clear a high of 60 degrees if the sun stays out! Clouds return on Sunday to welcome us back to campus on Monday to kick off Week 4.

Enjoy the springtime weather, Huskies!
