Stair-Stepping Back Into the 60s

Hey Huskies! The start of this week has been bleak compared to the sunny skies and high temps we saw this weekend but we have much to look forward to for the remainder of the week. The light showers should wrap up this afternoon making for a more pleasant commute home. We may even get a glimpse of clear skies this evening to enjoy the post 8pm sunset that will linger through the next four months.

Clear and calm skies tonight will allow for some cold air aloft to settle at the surface. The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for the South Sound, with a freeze warning for some areas near the state border. Expect cold overnight temperatures to dip near the freezing point in those areas, while cold temperatures slightly above freezing elsewhere around the Sound. Make sure to bundle up and protect any sensitive people, pets, and plants tomorrow morning.

The cloudy and showery weather today will be fully passed through by this evening, leaving it its wake naught but a few thin clouds for tomorrow. The evaporation of the cloud deck will be a prelude to the stair-stepping temperatures we’ll be observing for the rest of this week. Although low temperatures will be hovering around the 40 degree mark, high temperatures will be growing by roughly five degrees each day until our work-week high of 66 this Friday.

Have a good rest of your week and don’t forget to stay tuned for tomorrow’s blog!
