Happy Tuesday, Huskies! We hope you’re making it through Week 6 and the peak of midterms season. Although the week started off on a dreary note, things are looking up as we are expecting warmer temperatures and sunshine for the second half of the workweek.

Aside from scattered showers passing through the South Sound, increasing sunbreaks are on the way later this evening. High temperatures today are in the mid-50s, about ten degrees cooler than normal for this time of year. With that, the National Weather Service has also issued a frost advisory for tomorrow morning in regions further away from Seattle in the foothills and the South Sound. These locations can expect low temperatures tomorrow morning around 33-36 degrees.

The incoming warm-up can be mostly attributed to a ridge of high pressure that will be moving through our region late Wednesday into Friday. Although this ridge may be short lived, we can expect near full sunshine on Thursday as a result of it, and large daily temperature swings, with high high temperatures, and low low temperatures. By late Friday though, this era of sunshine will fade away as another trough moves in from the gulf of Alaska bringing cooler and damper conditions.

Tomorrow, expect a slight warm-up with some sunbreaks mixed in with the clouds. Thursday appears to be the most pleasant day, with temperatures peaking in the low 60s and abundant sunshine. While we briefly maintain the low 60s into Friday, expect increasing clouds ahead of the next system that will arrive this weekend.

Have a great rest of your week Huskies, the last midterms are upon us!
