Hey there Huskies!

We hope your Wednesday is off to a fantastic start. Skies today should give you a good idea of what lies in store for the remainder of the week–some real spring weather! Normally this time of year, temperatures are hitting highs in the mid-60s by now. This weekend, we’ll be pushing right past seasonably warm straight into summer territory.

Highs today should be reaching around 65, thanks to a delightful ridge of high pressure moving closer to our region today. High pressure systems and their associated sinking air bring clear skies and warm temperatures to wherever they move, and it’s our turn for a classic mid-May heatwave.

Temperatures tomorrow and Friday are going to continue increasing, with the warmest day in the near-future looking to be Saturday! It’s possible that high temperatures this weekend reach 80 around the Sound, with some models even pushing us further into the mid-80s. If you’re worrying about breaking some heat records, the records this weekend stand in the upper 80s–out of reach this time around.

In contrast, Portland is supposed to be reaching 90 around the same time. If you’re looking for some real summer heat, consider heading south for your weekend. Down below is a look at Friday’s expected high temperatures.

Those of you with outdoor weekend plans are in luck – the rain isn’t set to come back until Monday, just in time for Week 8 to begin.

Enjoy the rest of the week and your Mother’s day weekend, Huskies, and be sure to get outdoors!
