Good morning, Huskies!
The sun rose once more today to clear blue skies across the Pacific Northwest, and today is setting up to be the best day of the week for outdoor activities. Any morning clouds that were around this morning will be dissipating by midday today, giving way to crystal clear skies and highs in the low 70s in Seattle.
As for events today, first pitch for the Mariners today is at 1:10 PM here at home in T-Mobile Park. Today will be about the best baseball weather you could ask for, with full sunshine and temperatures climbing to a comfortable 72 degrees by the end of the game. Expect mid-60s for the commute to the stadium this morning, and go M’s!
Around the Sound today, highs should peak anywhere from the low 70s inland to upper 50s prevailing further towards the water. On the coast today, expect temperatures to fall below the 60-degree mark. If you’re tired of the heat, don’t worry–relief is on the way for those of us further inland.
During the day Thursday, conditions will start to shift back towards cloudy skies and cooler weather. Rather than 70s, highs in the Seattle metro will reach the mid-60s and cloud cover will prevail, particularly in the afternoon. For those of you that happen to be outside at UW, there will more than likely be showers around Puget Sound, but it’s unlikely that Seattle proper will be getting any appreciable precipitation. With winds coming from the west throughout most of the day, Seattle will find itself in a rain shadow thanks to the Olympic Mountains. However, it’s entirely possible that regions further north will get a bit wet going into Thursday evening.
Going into our weekend, you can expect on and off showers and sunbreaks, with Saturday looking wet and Sunday looking mostly dry. Next week, this unsettled weather is set up to continue, with more rain showers in our future. On the bright side, there’s only a few weeks left in this quarter Huskies, so keep up the good work!
