More Rain Over The Weekend 🌧️

Happy Thursday Huskies!

While it was a bit gloomy and cloudy to wake up this morning, with a low level Stratus looming over us. The afternoon will warm up with some sunshine, reaching a high about 67, then cooling down in the evening to a low around 47. 

 

As a trough moves over us, we will be seeing more precipitation over the next couple of days, starting early Friday morning. The rain showers will remain throughout the weekend in the lowlands with the coast being mostly cloudy. A Puget Sound Convergence Zone on Friday night into Saturday morning will lead to some higher rainfall totals north of Seattle towards Everett. Depending on its exact location, areas could see upwards of 0.75 inches of rain while surrounding areas only get up to 0.25 inches.

 

At the moment, we have about 14.81 inches of accumulated rain for the year, which is about 2 to 3 inches lower than the average accumulated Seattle rainfall. This weekend’s rainfalls might make a slight dent in the deficit, though it will not be the miracle that takes us out of the drought emergency. 

 

We will also be experiencing gusts of wind and bits of breeziness on Saturday on the south sound, with wind speeds up to 25 – 30 mph. 

 

It does appear that we will see some brief drying out late Saturday afternoon before the next round of rain moves in to start Sunday. For the Folks heading to Folklife at the Seattle Center to celebrate cultural expressions this weekend, be sure to take advantage of the sunshine and make sure to bring all the necessities to stay warm and dry through the nights!
