A Rainy End to the First Full Week
By Tayler Sheldon, Joseph Renalds, Kwabena Ledbetter, & Erika Wood
Good Afternoon Huskies!
Though we’ve been in October for a few days, it’s finally starting to feel like a picturesque autumn this Autumn Quarter at UW. An area of high pressure moving around the region brings with it some clear skies and cooler temperatures sitting around the mid-60s dropping down to 50 degrees later tonight. With our lovely trees turning their colors, today’s the perfect time to enjoy the beauty of campus in between lectures. But don’t get too used to the dry and clear, this is the Pacific Northwest after all and Friday is chopping up to look pretty…well stormy.
Increasing clouds are going to build through Thursday evening so you’ll have time to find your raincoats for Friday’s downpour. Rain will begin at around 8:00 AM and continue to intensify through 11:00 AM with gusty winds increasing throughout the morning. Luckily for us, we’re going to ease into the fall swing as the rain will give way to scattered showers at around noon.
As we roll into Saturday, we’ll see a brief hiatus from the showers before another front moves in late Sunday. For those of you going to the football game, temperatures of 61 degrees are expected at kickoff with partly cloudy skies, but you may want to bring an extra layer as they will drop quickly as the game goes on.
The start of next week should be fairly normal fall weather wise as we continue into October.
Have a great rest of your week Huskies!
