Dry-ish Break Before Another Stormy Weekend

By: Joseph Renalds & Erika Wood

Good Afternoon Huskies,

We hope you have been having a good Week 8 so far. This morning there was a bit of drizzle around Seattle after a stormier day on Wednesday. This break from the rain will be fairly brief as a Puget Sound Convergence Zone will develop over our area around 2PM and add some more rain to our already soggy surroundings. This rain will persist into the evening hours before dissipating around midnight.

For those of you sea lovers a NWS Coastal Flood Advisory has been placed into effect around the Puget Sound Area from 12pm this afternoon till 6:00pm tonight, so be cautious around coastal waterways today.

Friday will feel much cooler with the high temperature expected to only get into the mid-40s. This would be the first time Seattle has had a high temperature below 50 degrees since April 6, 2024 (222 days). It will be mostly dry as well so take the opportunity to get outside if you can and enjoy the crisp day.

Rain will return on Saturday as yet another frontal system moves into the region with Sunday and Monday sharing that rainy fate. Winds are also expected to pick up into Sunday afternoon. However, things are looking bright (and maybe below freezing?!) later next week so stay tuned.

Overall Huskies grab those extra padded raincoats and hold onto those umbrellas as we head into another stormy weekend ahead.
