Tonight We’re Dancing in the Moonlight

Hey Huskies! Happy Friday!

Our day today is shaping to become a lovely cool and crisp autumn day and a great end to week 8 before the final stretch. The high today is expected to peak at 46 degrees while our lows will hover near the 40-degree mark. We have some early morning clouds and fog which will partially clear making way for some sunbreaks this afternoon. However, being the rainiest month of the year, you can’t avoid the rain for too long in mid-November. An active weather pattern is expected for the weekend into early next week, with rain, wind, and varying snow levels. 

Upper level ridging is forming today giving us a break from the rain. Perfect for today’s game, the last home game of the season! Seniors make the most of this final home game! Temperatures will stick around the mid to upper 40’s so not too chilly but best to bundle up for when the sun goes down at 4:30 tonight. We could potentially see some showers around kickoff but after the first quarter, we should be in the clear. Rember, tonight’s game is “Black out” themed so make sure to wear some black husky merch! Let’s get ready to have the full moon shine down on Husky Stadium and bring out the dawg in all of us!

The break from the downpours doesn’t last for long as the rain returns once again this weekend. Starting at around 10 am on Saturday, we can expect to see some showers roll through Seattle over the course of the day. Don’t forget your umbrellas and rain jackets if you’re going out, or maybe heat up some hot cocoa and stay inside for a while. Until then, however, be sure to enjoy as much of the clear weather today as you can, as it’s a rare treat here in Seattle during November! 

The storm brewing off the coast today and tonight will finally arrive mid-day on Saturday. Showery conditions will likely persist for much of the early afternoon but by 4 pm more steady rains will be arriving for our area. Saturday night into Sunday is when the wind will start picking up, with expected winds sustained at roughly 15-25 miles per hour with gusts into the 30s. As you wake up on Sunday morning, the rain will still be persistent but watch out for any downed branches or power lines associated with the aforementioned wind. The story for Sunday will be tapering winds and rain as the storm finally moves over the cascades.
