Happy Thursday, Huskies! I hope you enjoy the beautiful sunshine today as we have another chilly day on tap. Temperatures will run a few degrees below average, which is 49 degrees for this time of year. We are trending to be in the low 40s, while lows will be warmer tonight but still below freezing. Thankfully, it is not as cold as 16 degrees in 1949.
Throughout the day. you may notice increasing clouds filling into the region as a very weak disturbance will move through overnight bringing a slight chance of sprinkles and flurries up into the mountains. Rain totals are not that impressive as many locations may stay dry tonight and only deal with overcast skies throughout the night.
This is a very short-lived system as we will return to quiet conditions starting Friday afternoon and continuing through the weekend and into next week. Sunshine will make a return to the area making for a gorgeous January weekend to do any outdoor activities that you wish. Make should you bundle up with a warm coat as temperatures will still be below average in the low to mid-40s with overnight lows still below freezing throughout the weekend. This calm pattern will continue into next week with plentiful sunshine, chilly mornings, and below-average temps.
Enjoy the sunshine Huskies!
