Good afternoon Huskies!

As Week 2 comes to a close, hopefully you enjoyed the rain that we had this past week as we had low clouds and fog this morning thanks to the rain that fell the last couple of days. Here is a cool shot of the Space Needle this morning before it got sucked into the clouds later on.

Thankfully, the low clouds burned off, leading into a wonderful afternoon with partly sunny skies across the region. Don’t let the sun fool you as increasing clouds will be filtering into the area tonight as a weak cold front will brush by, causing a slight chance of rain overnight. There are also possibilities of small amounts of rain heading into the morning, but will otherwise clear up for a sunny day.

By Saturday morning, only a few low clouds will remain across the region as most of the precipitation has dwindled out. These clouds will clear out throughout the day, making for an overall partly sunny day. Highs will top out in the low 60s, while a slightly warmer day is expected on Sunday when highs may stretch towards the mid 60s. Sunday will feature fewer clouds and more sunshine, making for a lovely autumn day.

On Saturday evening, the Mariners will host the Detroit Tigers in game 1 of the ALDS at 5:38 P.M.. This is the first time the Mariners get to host ALDS Game 1 and 2 since our historic 2001 season. Conditions on Saturday will be fair with temperatures in the upper 50’s. There is no expected precipitation, but you may want a light-weight jacket too.

On Sunday morning, UW kicks off its annual Dawg Dash event featuring the 5k and 10k. There will be perfect running conditions with temperatures in the low 50’s and no precipitation. For those participating, enjoy the weather and have a great race!

As we look towards the following week, a ridge will build over our area and bring us some dry and sunny conditions. With the lack of cloud cover, overnight temperatures will be dropping into the 40s, a first for the season of those chilly and crisp mornings. You’ll want to layer up for the mornings, but easily be able to take off a layer or two when those afternoon temperatures begin reaching the 60s.

Have a fantastic weekend, Huskies!
