Happy Friday, Huskies!

Hopefully, you are enjoying the nice weather, especially with the sun peeking out yesterday. As we head into the rest of your Friday, plan on mostly cloudy skies with mild temperatures in the low 50s. If you have plans tonight, just make sure you bring a warm jacket because lows will drop into the upper 40s tonight, but will stay dry. Heading into Saturday, things will stay relatively dry, although a sprinkle or light shower cannot be rule out. The main front, which is stalling out over British Columbia, will move thru the region Sunday morning, bringing rain and breezy winds, gusting to 20 mph at most. Temperatures will drop with this front, from the mid 50s on Saturday to the upper 40s on Sunday.

Looking at how much rain we are going to get from this front, models have backed off with the rainfall compared to yesterday, but most areas around the Sound seeing around a 1/3 of a inch of rain, with higher amounts along the coast and into Bellingham. Mountain snow will be present across the Cascades, with snow levels dropping from 5000 ft. on Saturday to 2500 ft. by Sunday afternoon. Both Stevens and Snoqualmie passes could receive up to half a foot of snow accumulations from this system by Monday morning. Overall, not anything too out of the ordinary for this time of year, just wet roads in the lowlands and slicker roads with winter-like conditions as you head up in elevation.

Saturday will remain dry and be mostly cloudy with temperatures in the low 50’s. Currently there’s a frontal system stalling over British Columbia. As we approach late night Saturday into early Sunday, the system will be moving across Western Washington. This will result in the rainfall we see on Sunday and on Monday. Highs will be slightly cooler dropping into the upper 40’s and at night temperatures will drop into the low 40’s (less cloud cover). On Tuesday, temperatures will be in the mid to upper 40’s, with the low temperature staying relatively close to the high due to cloud cover. On Wednesday, precip will return and there will likely be showers throughout the day. Stay strong Huskies, Thanksgiving break is almost here!

Have a great weekend, Huskies!
