Dead Week Deployment
By Addison Curp and Sophie Koehler
Goodmorning Huskies! Happy DEAD week, hopefully everyone is mentally prepared to go to war (study for their exams) next week. That first class post Thanksgiving was rough, but we’ll make it through the next week and the one after!

The sun is still setting earlier and earlier! The earliest sunset time will be 4:17 on December 7th, and it’ll start coming later. By December 29th, the sunset will be at 4:23 as we work our way out of the dark ages in Seattle. As today is December 1st, it marks the meteorological start of the winter season. Meteorologists follow a different schedule for seasons, as the standard astronomical day is December 21st, as the first day of winter.

With today’s high of 42 and low of 39, temperatures are steadily decreasing as expected, given the approach of the winter season. But did you know that Seattle has historically seen drastically different conditions on this day, December 1st? Our region witnessed a record high temperature of 60, almost exactly a century ago, and in 1985, Seattle experienced a record low of 20 degrees!

The rest of the week is looking a little crazy with temperatures moving up and down. Today will be partly sunny with lower temperatures moving into Tuesday. Tuesday will be mostly cloudy as the temperature rises into the mid-40s and back down into Wednesday, where we will have some fog settling in. Thursday is looking wet with a high chance of rain in the afternoon, with temperatures rising into the high 40s. The temperature continues to rise into Friday with chance rain in the afternoon.
Happy Monday Huskies! Keep fighting for the end of the quarter!
