Cold.

Hey Huskies, this weekend’s forecast is looking bright and sunny for us here in Seattle. Perfect weather for a fun weekend or getting to see the Seahawks play. But take a look beyond the Northwest, and you’ll see the rest of the United States is having a more interesting winter.

Though the sun will be abundant going forward, there is some cold air filtering down through the country this week with the Central Sound region getting in on the action with temperatures forecasted to bottom out around 20 degrees. So though it will look balmy and serene from the safety of your stained glass windows, your world might get rocked if you open up that door without a winter coat on!

As you might’ve heard, especially if you’re a weather nerd, a major winter storm is moving across the eastern United States. The graphic above is the probability of these areas exceeding their warning criteria. Over the next few days, much of the region will experience significantly colder temperatures along with an increased chance of snowfall. Portions of the East Coast are even expecting potentially record-breaking snowfall totals.

Tomorrow will be clear and calm with the sun peaking out for most of the day. The temperature will reach its peak around 1 pm at 44 degrees. Dipping back into the 30s as the sun sets. Those sunsets are getting later and later as we get further from the Winter Solstice!

This weekend, the Seahawks are back at Lumen Field, taking on the Los Angeles Rams. The two teams are battling out for the NFC Championship and a path to the Super Bowl. The game will kick off at 3:30 pm PST with a high of 41. Then once the sun sets at 5:00 pm, the temps will drop into the mid-30s. The weather will stay dry and mostly calm with winds only reaching 3 mph. If you’re planning on going to the game, stay warm!

As always, have a great weekend Huskies!!
