Happy Monday, Huskies! Hopefully, you had a wonderful weekend enjoying the sunshine and chilly temperatures, especially at night. As we head into week 4 of winter quarter, plan on changes to our weather pattern as rain is finally going to appear after a two week hiatus by the time we get to the middle of the week. In the meantime, plan on mostly cloudy skies today with temperatures running a few degrees below average for this time of year, which is 49 degrees for late January.

Once Tuesday rolls around, plan on the same conditions as today: mostly cloudy skies, but temperatures a little warmer in the upper 40s to low 50s across the Sound. Finally, on Wednesday, a front will finally move into the area, bringing much needed rain and mountain snow. An initial wave will bring in a few showers early Wednesday morning, then the main front will bring more as we head into the rest of the day Wednesday. Temperatures will remain in the upper 40s during this time period.

Once the front passes, scattered showers will prevent on Thursday and into the end of the week. Rain accumulations will be light, with up to a quarter of an inch possible for most areas around the Puget Sound, with more on the way towards the end of the week. The Cascades will get an few inches of snow too, especially areas above 4000 ft. as the snow level will rise up to 5000 ft. by early Thursday morning.

Have a great rest of your Monday, Huskies!
