Gooood Morning Huskies!!

After Seattle’s record longest January dry streak, rain has returned! In addition to the return of rain, temperatures will skyrocket into the weekend, and the sunny & cold weather of the past few weeks will be a thing of the past. Let’s dive into the forecast!

As you can see in the calendar above, January has been a tale of two patterns…a rainy start, then our record January dry streak, then the end of the dry streak just last night! We’ll keep adding to the “rain” category over the next few days, as a few more systems take aim at Western Washington.

Taking a look at our total rain through Saturday, we can see that multiple systems will bring up to 1-1.25 inches of rain to campus, through Friday. Take a look at our 5-day forecast below to plan out when you can be outside and when you should stay inside!

As we can see, things are looking wet the next few days. As a warm front sweeps through the region, temperature will climb to as high as 56℉ on Saturday, what a change from the frigid 28℉ of last week! Trends will continue to stay rainy and warm going into next week, with some sunshine peaking out during the weekend.

To all you skiers out there, the no-snow spell is over, but that doesn’t mean it’s suddenly perfect skiing conditions. There is still hope! Mountain snowfall predictions for over the weekend show some snow accumulation. For alright skiing, your best bet is pack up and head north to Mt. Baker.

Overall, we’re heading for a big weather change so hang in there and enjoy the rest of your week, Huskies!
