Happy Friday, Huskies!
Hope you all have been enjoying the fairly dreary day that is kicking off the first weekend of 2024. SeaTac has seen a little over a tenth of an inch of precipitation so far this afternoon, and the rain will not let up just yet.
For those of you who may be planning a big back-to-school Friday outing tonight, make sure to be prepared for some pretty breezy and rainy conditions. Over a third of an inch of rain is expected overnight, with the heaviest precipitation expected between 9 pm and 4 am.
Gusty winds will also persist through tonight, but will calm down by early morning.
More rain is expected tomorrow, although there will be some sunbreaks especially early to mid-day. The rain will also not be nearly as heavy as we are seeing today.
Temperatures on Saturday will stay mostly in the low-40s but may reach into the mid-40s. That, along with the expected sunshine, will make Saturday a fairly enjoyable day (especially for early January) — so make sure to get some vitamin D in if you can.
Sunday will be cool, but also mostly dry after the morning. Cloud cover will likely be denser than on Saturday, but there may still be some sunbreaks especially in the afternoon.
This weekend would not be complete without some fresh powder up in the mountains. Lucky for us, snow levels will stay just low enough the next couple of days to make for some great skiing conditions by Sunday.Temperatures will warm up again come Monday night, before dropping again mid-week.
Have a great weekend, Huskies, and make sure to stay updated with our daily blogs, especially as we near the end of next week where there could be some potential lowland snow in store…
