What’s good dawgs? TGIF, right?! Okay yeah, our Friday started out pretty dreary but don’t let that get you down! We’ve got a game to get hyped about! A temporary front is passing East over the atmosphere today giving us some rain and mild wind gusts. But come later this afternoon conditions will partially dry up. Light showers will continue on and off for the rest of the day into the evening, with the potential for a convergence zone to be set up in northern King County or Snohomish county. Skies will stay cloudy this evening and into early tomorrow morning but trust; game day is gonna be a great day.
As we move past our soggy Friday It’s time to Purple Out! As your Washington Huskies welcome the Michigan Wolverines to the Greatest Setting for a rematch of the 2024 College Football National Championship. Although the teams and the location may have changed, that’s not going to stop us from bringing you the game-day forecast. If you’re commuting to the game make sure to plan for heavy game-day traffic as the 520 bridge will be CLOSED! Regardless, expect no meteorological obstructions to the commute as there is a low chance for fog or rain. Whether you’re holding a pair of pom-poms or watching the game with friends expect mild if not cool conditions tomorrow. Temperatures will be hovering around the mid 50’s with moderate cloud cover in the morning for your tailgate, so make sure to bring an extra layer if you’re not rooting for the team up north (or out east?!). As we march through to game time temperatures will stair step into the low 60’s and the clouds will dissipate. Enjoy the game Huskies, and remember even though we bleed purple and gold tomorrow we wear PURPLE!
We start the weekend with temperatures in the upper 40s with quite a bit of cloud coverage. These clouds clear up later in the afternoon as temperatures reach low 60s, keeping things cool throughout the day. Early morning on Sunday shows a good chance for some fog, so be careful if you plan on driving or other outdoor activities. Thankfully, the fog will clear up and the sun will be out as we approach the afternoon and temperatures rise from upper 40s to mid 60s; it’ll be a nice, moderate fall day. To recap, this weekend will be great for anyone looking to travel or engage in any outdoor activities, with mild temperatures and a decent mix of clouds and sun throughout, so make the most of it!
Jumping ahead to early next week, we start off Monday and Tuesday fairly dry, with highs continuing to hover in the upper 60s. The ridge weakens as we approach the middle of next week and we welcome back a trough into our region. This will introduce some precipitation and cooler weather back into the forecast. Expect some showers with temps in the low 60s by Wednesday, and a similar pattern ensuing for the extended forecast.
Stay tuned for our future blogs and GO HUSKIES!!
