LUIS VICENCIO- President

Major & Year: Operations & Supply Chain Management and Marketing, Senior
Hometown: Shoreline, Washington
Why ALPFA: Truly fell in love with ALPFA over the last year, what it stands for, the work the organization does, and its ability to help its members find and build community. I could not pass up the opportunity to be involved one more year, in a different position, and see where we can take this wonderful organization. I am excited to continue learning, innovating, and assisting the incoming executive team with pushing ALPFA onto the big milestone.
Hobbies/Fun Fact: I love learning about cars, and car tech

Why ALPFA: It’s an organization that provided me a tight-knit community at the UW, resources, and mentorship alongside likeminded individuals who also seek to empower Latinx representation in the professional world.

Hobbies/Fun Fact:  I watch a lot of soccer! It’s my favorite sport to follow and play, and I am also confirmed to be the women’s soccer sports reporter for The Daily this upcoming year.

ANDY MANZANO – VP of Internal Affairs

Major & Year: Human Resources and Information Systems

Hometown: Palmdale, CA

WHY ALPFA: ALPFA represents the perfect intersection between my ethnic identity and professional aspirations. The concept of our ALPFAmilia is ingrained in all that we do, so I’m guided to be a more experienced and standout professional with the support of a unified community around me.

Hobbies/Fun Fact: I’ve had at least 1 dog or cat in my home since I was 3 years old, and currently have two dogs, one cat, and one koi fish!

JESSICA PEREZ ORTIZ – VP of Operations

Major & Year: Human Resources and Information Systems, Freshman

Hometown: Auburn, WA

Why ALPFA: I wanted to be a part of a community that will help uplift one another and I found that within ALPFA. Coming into UW and being in such a large campus that was predominately white, I found myself not fitting in. However, once I joined ALPFA I was exposed to extraordinary individuals who soon became my close friends. I also wanted to grow in my professional development skills and found multiple opportunities in ALPFA to do just that. It’s a community that helps build and support future leaders while also providing a safe space to have real conversations.

Hobbies/Fun Fact: I enjoy traveling and exploring new places! I also enjoy hiking and playing volleyball! A fun fact will be that I have never tried pie.

MOISES MENDEZ – VP of Professional Development

Major & Year: Finance, Junior

Why ALPFA: ALPFA’s mission is very similar to my own.  I enjoy assisting those who aspire to succeed despite any challenges, financial or environmental.

Hobbies/Fun Fact: I love hiking and boxing.

PEYTON GOMEZ – VP of Communications

Why ALPFA: ALPFA has connected me to many amazing individuals (professionals and students) who have helped me learn more about myself and brought joy into my life.

Hobbies/Fun Fact: I’ve traveled to 8 different countries (Canada, Mexico, Panama, England, Scotland, France, Italy, and Spain).

LESLY DURAN – VP of Recruitment

Major & Year: Entrepreneurship & English, Junior

Hometown: Forks, WA

Why ALPFA: I believe that everyone has the capability of achieving their dreams. Times will not always be easy- however this platform will allow me to embody a relationship with others in which I can support and mentor them through anything. There is a unique story behind everyone and letting them known that they must never doubt themselves is why we were all chosen to be here. ALPFA is more than a community of students- it’s a place to learn, grow, and achieve. Overall, we are a family.

Hobbies/Fun Fact: I love taking on thrilling adventures! When I went to Las Momias de Guanajuato in Mexico I was feeling a bit trepidation at the thought of having around 100 mummies around me. Let me tell you they were definitely dead and staring at me! Talk about freaky.

ANDREA HERNANDEZ- Senior Advisor

Why ALPFA: ALPFA was a huge stepping stone into becoming the person I am today, in addition it became a place to call home. I believe in our mission to empower the Latino community into becoming confident leaders and equipped professionals. Being on the executive board during my junior year motivated me to stay involved. I loved seeing the ALPFAmilia grow and can’t wait to see what there is to come.

Hobbies/Fun Fact: My dream is to move to Japan when I am done with undergrad. I went there some years ago and I can’t wait to go back.

GONZALO VILLACORTA- Senior Advisor

Major &  Year: Marketing & Senior

Hometown: Fife, Washington

Why ALPFA: ALPFA is home to me. I first began being a member for ALPFA in my freshman year of college and I knew I wanted to be in business. I knew the first thing to do was to find a community and during a UW tour I remember a man by the name of Andy Marzano who told me that if I needed anything I should let him know. So that first week on campus I met with Andy and he introduced me to the President of ALPFA at the time and told me that it was a growing club and it is the right place to be. He was right, ALPFA has felt like my second home for me at UW and I enjoyed how open minded and how motivated each of these individuals are to be successful. I wanted to be around people that would push me to be my best and that is what they did and that is what they kept doing and that is why I consider them as my ALPFAmilia.

Hobbies/Fun Fact: I love watching and playing soccer with my friends. I find the sport very stress relieving and it is just very intriguing to watch. I love soccer so much that I traveled to Russia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup to watch Peru in their first world cup in 36 years and it was an experience of a lifetime and I really enjoyed staying a month in a country that was so welcoming
