INSTRUCTIONS for Authors

The following will be considered for publication:

  • A report on an original quality improvement project
  • A review on topics related to quality improvement or patient safety
  • An essay or artistic work reflecting on any element of patient care
  • Any other meaningful work promoting the quality and safety of care at UW Medicine

 

For quality improvement and patient safety papers, submissions must be (1) Any process improvement or intervention leading to significant changes in patient care practices or clinical outcomes, (2) A research or review paper on topics related to quality improvement or patient safety. Submissions should include the following: 

  • Working Title
  • Corresponding Author and Clinical Department
  • Background, Methods, Results, Data Analysis, Discussion, Conclusion, if applicable
  • Abstract approximately 250 words
  • Suggested word count 1200 or less

Submission deadline: February 6, 2024

 

For artistic pieces, submission should reflect upon any element of patient care or unique residency experiences. Accepted submissions include:

  • Photography (Approximately 300 DPI)
  • Artwork (Please include description or self bio about piece)
  • Poetry
  • Personal thought, reflections, and stories

Our goal is HiRes imagery that can be edited for font and color consistency throughout the publication.
